I'd like to use a 4K display with a 2009 mac pro (4,1) so I'll need a new videocard.
I'm normally not really into fiddling with hardware but this seems easy enough.
Performance doesn't need to be state of the art, I just want to run a 4K display in some kind of retina mode for development work.
So far I have found this: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Sapphire/100352MAC/ but it's sold out or discontinued.
Then I found this page with some recommendations: http://alikgriffin.com/may/22/how-upgrade-your-old-mac-pro-graphics-card
I'm just not sure how up-to-date these cards are and if they support a 4K resolution.
Can I just use any modern video card with a DisplayPort connector?
